Ben is 4 year old Percheron-Belgin cross bay gelding. He stands a solid 16.2 hands tall. We have put Ben through every task imaginable, with every age of rider and confidence level. That being said, he has never failed us. He is a true pleasure to have in our barn and a favorite to all, especially all the little kids! He has been ridden by my 4 year old daughter all over the trails, open fields, around the farm, in the arena and down the roads. My 14 year old daughter has done everything with Ben and has literally put him through every test any person or child could put a horse through and he has been perfect! He is a point and go type of horse. Ben is very well broke to ride and drive. All of my children can easily catch him, lead him to the barn (which in most cases he just follows) tie him up, saddle or hitch up and take off and I never have to worry. Ben rides out alone on the trail or with a big group, nothing phases him. He will be the leader of the pack or he will take up the rear and follow whoever is in front of him. He's not pushy on the trail or sour regardless of how many horses are around. You can turn him out in the field or tie him close to any horse with no issues. He will stand tied to any post or picket line all day and night. You can drive or ride him into town, jump off at the gas station, run in and get your goodies and Ben will still be standing there, there's no need to even tie him, he won't move! Ben has been exposed to semi traffic, large bouncy balls, tarps, guns, whips, obstacles, farm equipment, cows, dogs, all different kinds of livestock, balloons, you name it he's seen it, none in which have ever bothered him! He will stand still to be tacked up and mounted, stands perfect for the ferrier, vet, and to be clipped. Ben loads and unloads like a dream in any trailer, he's not picky. He loves the water and never shys. Ben is the type of horse you can turn out for months, grab him out of the field, throw you child or an inexperienced rider on him and go! He's literally that easy. Ben will put in a hard days work out in the fields with any type of equipment or he would be glad to dress up as a unicorn for your child's next birthday party and ride all the little children around! He is truly a family horse. Ben will sit and or lay down to be mounted or to dismount. He will nod his head for yes and no which is a family favorite around here! Ben will also sit on a recliner or bean bag chair! Whether your Crossing logs, going through water, going through the roughest terrain, up and down the steepest hills, crossing bridges, or your in the thickest woods, Ben will get you through all of it with the upmost confidence. He will ride bareback with as many people as you can sit on his back! Ben has absolutely no bad habits, or vices. He is 100% safe and sound in everyway. He has a solid walk, trot, lope and will pick up the correct leads when asked. Ben will side pass to any object for you to mount, all you have to do is pick up that side of the rein. He will also side pass to any gate or through any obstacle. Slide your legs up to his shoulders and he will do amazing sliding stop! Ben works well with leg pressure, he plow reins and neck reins.
