Here is one that I’ll bet your neighbor won’t have one like! Meet Shirley Temple! She is a stout built, 13H, 7 year old, Grulla molly/mare mule. Shirley is 100% dependable! Whether she is ridden every day or left in the stall for a couple week or left out in the pasture for a couple months, she will be the same! She is easy to tack up, bridle, handle her feet, just cinch her up and lope her right off, their is no fuss with this gal. Shirley has been ridden by all ages even as young as 6 years old. She is the perfect family mule as she is safe and dependable yet versatile enough to do anything for any member of the family. I have ridden her at night coon hunting, where I have led my dogs, I had squirrel hunted off of her of the day time, used her to check my deer cameras, ride fences around the pasture, herd cattle, we have even roped a couple calves… no matter what the task at hand is, Shirley is going to help you get it done. She has been trail ridden extensively and geos anywhere that a big 16h horse can go (but you won’t bump your head on the tree branches like you will on those big guys), it doesn’t get too steep or too deep! Shirley will climb up the steep hills and slide down the other side if need be. She will scale up big slick rocks and jump off of them as well when asked. She will cross deep water with no issues and takes her time on the rocky terrain as well. The kids have played with her tracking the roping dummy and trotted/loped her around the barrels. Shirley does great in the herd and is also fine being stalled. She is always the first one to the gate to meet you if she is pastured and she loves attention whether that be getting brushed. Shirley lopes nice circles, takes her leads and reins around well. She tacks up and rides off quietly everytime! Shirley knows some tricks, she lays down with ease and enjoys being the center of attention for folks to gather around and pet on her, she also sets as well.
