Im Umgang wickelt er jeden um den Finger, kann auch von Kindern betüddelt werden und liebt Bodenarbeit. Beim Reiten nicht für Anfänger oder ängstliche Reiter geeignet, da er manchmal sensibel reagiert und man sich seine Durchlässigkeit erarbeiten muss. Gerade im Winter kann er durchaus mal etwas glotzig sein und zur Seite springen, wird aber nicht böse oder kopflos. Er ist natürlich Schmiede und verladefromm und lässt sich entspannt am Halfter durchs Wohngebiet zur Weide führen. Er kennt Ausritte zu zweit oder mit Begleitperson aufm dem Fahrrad.
