Laredo is a 4 year old registered Quarter Horse gelding standing a solid and sturdy 15.2 hands high. He is exactly the type of horse that everyone comes to us looking for. He rides English, western, bridleless, and a is a safe trail master. He is always solid, sure footed, and EASY. If you don’t know what you’re doing, Laredo will fill in the blanks and make any rider look like a pro. Ride him in any tack, in any discipline, and you’ll always be happy with a smile on your face because he is just that good! Laredo is well broke and educated, he has all the buttons with a solid foundation. He has the best brain, a quiet mind, and all the moves! Very few horses can seamlessly go between many disciplines, and do it them all this well. He’s the perfect mount if you want to do a bit of everything and have a safe and solid parter to do it with.

In the arena, Laredo is well broke under both English and western tack. He knows all the lateral work, spins, stops, extends, collects, steers off the leg, has his changes, has a one hand neck rein, and goes in a frame easily. What we love about Laredo is that he has all of this education, but is not touchy or sensitive. A beginner can enjoy him just as much as a seasoned pro could. He is comfortable, has seamless transitions, and is just easy to ride in every way. He lopes off from a standstill, has a nice stop, and is soft in the bridle. Dressage comes naturally to Laredo, he is always so enjoyable to work with and is the type of horse that leaves you feeling accomplished after every ride. He jumps around, and loves to go cross country too!

Out of the arena, Laredo is a steady partner. We have taken him all over to trail ride, school off property, and do clinics. He LOVES the trail classes and obstacle courses, and is always up for a new adventure. Laredo is so much fun to take to different events because you know he will always give his all, and be the same safe horse, no matter what you are doing with him. He has done mounted patrol clinics, sorting and penning events, obstacle courses, trail competitions, camping trips, and lots of dressage and xc schooling trips. Laredo steps off the trailer ready for any adventure.

On the trails, Laredo is simple, safe, and fun. He rides out alone or in a group, and doesn’t get worked up when the others ride off. He crosses water, bridges, and rides into town. He is safe in traffic, around livestock, and with dogs/hounds.

In the barn, Laredo is sweet and gentle. He is handled daily by our children, and stands like a gentleman for all of the usual barn tasks. He has no quirks or vices, and is as solid as they come! Laredo is an easy keeper with no maintenance.

Laredo could step into the dressage ring and win his class just as easily as he could go work a day on the ranch. If competition isn’t your thing, no worries! Laredo is just as happy trail riding, going off property to lessons and clinics, and being a solid and safe partner no matter the job at hand.
