Shorty is an exceptional 3 year old AQHA gelding. He’s by a good son of Peeka Pep and out of a daughter of the well know Palo Duro Cat. Shorty is very thick made with good bone and foot. He’s built like an old timey quarter horse that you saw many years ago, but carries modern bloodlines.
Shorty has been used on the ranch extensively and has made a really nice ranch horse. We’ve doctored yearlings, sorted cattle and loaded trucks. He’s good to open and close gates, very cowy and is fun to sort on. He’ll cross creeks, water and logs with no problems.
Shorty has been in the arena and will lope pretty slow circles, catches his leads and has a big stop. We’ve tracked the hot heels and he is showing great promise. We think he could make a heel or breakaway horse over night!
Whether you’re looking for a performance prospect, ranch horse or trail horse, Shorty would be a good candidate for all of the above. He stays gentle and level headed all the time. He doesn’t get rattled when in a tight spot. He’s one that most any level rider could get along with. He stands 14.1 and is 100% sound.
