Pocono is a 12 year old Quarter Horse gelding stranding 14.3 hands high. This stout and sturdy guy is a schoolmaster in every ring. He has years of experience working on the ranch, packing kids around in lessons, trail riding, fox hunting, and everything in between. There's nothing that gets him spooked or upset, no terrain he can't tackle, and no person who won't feel safe on his back. He is very well broke and educated both English and western, he's soft, easy, forgiving, and is happy to fill in the blanks when his rider needs some guidance. He's the perfect age, old enough to know his job and do it well, and young enough to continue to do that job for years and years to come. Pocono is as solid as they come, absolutely anyone can ride and enjoy him. He is always a fun and relaxing type of ride, the kind where you can sit back and enjoy yourself no matter what you decide to do with him that day.
In the ring, Pocono is the man! Everyone in the family has had so much fun with this horse. He rides around with the babies, packs the timid kiddos in lessons, teaches friends and guests, and is just downright fun and easy. In western tack, he has all the moves and buttons. He will spidepass, spin, neck rein, has a nice big stop, and work the flag. English, he will ride in a frame or on the buckle, pop over small fences, and knows the lateral work. He has impeccable transitions, easy steering, comfortable gaits, and is easily adjustable. You can practice your dressage skills one day, then throw on western tack and ride him like a ranch horse the next. You, your friends, and your whole family can hop on and enjoy him! You can even take all of the tack off and take him around bridleless, and not just in the arena! He has done complete trail obstacle courses, trail rides, and trail competitions completely bridleless! Pocono is as trustworthy as they come.
On the trails and off property, Pocono is the best of the best. He can sit for weeks and go out and still be the best behaved horse out there. He has seen many types of terrain, swam in deep water, climbed steep hills, and rode along busy roads. None of it phases Pocono one single bit. He has done a days work on the ranch and knows how to open and close gates, check fence, work cattle, and rope calves. He will ground tie, and stand like a statue until you ask him to move. He is smart, sensible, and experienced both in and out of the ring. He can be trust3d with any rider on the trails, and will ride alone or in a group. Load him up and go anywhere and never worry. He is as solid as solid gets.
In the barn, Pocono is a kind soul. He loves the kids and getting attention from anyone who is giving it out. He is a good boy for all of the usual barn tasks, and can be handled by the smallest children. He is polite, gentle, and kind with everyone, and is a pleasure to have in the barn. Pocono is an easy keeper with no vices, limitations, or quirks.
